  • How long do softwood gates last?

    Softwood gates are less expensive than their Hardwood counterparts but do not have as long a lifespan. Treating your softwood gate regularly with Wood Preserver, you should expect a lifespan of approximately 15 years.

  • Are your softwood gates treated?

    Our softwood gates are supplied untreated as standard, however, we can treat your softwood gate for you for an additional cost.

  • What treatment do you apply to your softwood gates?

    We use Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment in Light Brown, which absorbs deeply into the wood for long-lasting protection. For an additional cost, we can provide an extra tin with your order.

  • Are all of your softwood gates handmade?

    Yes! We handcraft all of our gates in our two workshops in Poole, Dorset. We make each gate to order, based on your exact sizes and specifications.

  • Do you offer installation?

    We offer a full measurement, supply and free delivery service for customers in Dorset and within an 100-mile radius. We can also supply our softwood gates to the rest of the UK, though you will need to find an installer or install yourself.
