Henry with a gate he made. He is now a highly skilled member of the team

At Wooden Gate Makers, we like to give the opportunity to train the traditional skill of joinery to the next generation. Our apprentice Henry has just completed his level 2 Bench Joinery Apprenticeship. He is going to start level 3 in September 2019, where he will learn skills needed to run a joinery business such as pricing and supervisory skills.

This year we offered a two week Work Experience opportunity to Arron, a 15 year old pupil at a local school. He undertook some basic joinery work and observed more complex aspects of the job. He also designed a photo board to display some of our products. We received a certificate and a letter from the school thanking us for being part of their work experience programme.
